Every year, young scientists bring sophisticated research projects in medicine and
health to science fairs across the country. Their work is diverse
and innovative, focusing on diagnostic tools, treatments,
or ways to prevent a wide range of diseases, from
Alzheimer’s to cancer. Here, we spotlight five
students whose work earned recognition in
prestigious national and international science
competitions. As you’ll see, their research has
enormous potential to treat or prevent illness in
people around the world.
