ST E P 2 A close-up shot of the sublimation frog transfers. ST E P Once the frog design is printed on the inkjet printer to create the sublimation transfer, it is heat pressed onto 100% polyester fabric. If you are doing a production run and ganged multiple images, then there may be numerous frogs heat pressed to the fabric at once. The fabric is then moved to a standalone laser cutter with an optical eye. The eye uses the black registration marks to contour cut each frog. Excess material is weeded away. 3 ST E P 4 The sublimation frog transfer is heat sealed to white polyester fabric and then cut out with the laser. It is ready to be positioned on the shirt for sew down. ST E P 5 The tank top has already been preprinted with the background design. Using the 64-inch sublimation printer, a transfer is created that is big enough to be laid over the entire garment. Using a wide-format heat press, the background is heat sealed as an allover print. 26 Impressions | October/November 2015 impressionsmag.comhttp://www.impressionsmag.com
