Future Plans
As stated before, technology is here to stay, so showrooms have to stay
current on the newest and most interactive models. Pavelka and his team
are considering a new display in their showroom that allows people to
learn more about products featured in the display and set up an appointment on the integrated tablet.
Warners and his team foresee bar codes on products that can be
scanned into a computer via a smart phone or an iPad for a price quote
on a given project. Instead of having to enter every bit of information into
an Excel spreadsheet and get back with the client at a later date, this
information will be immediately available. According to Warners, a lot of
vendors still need to upgrade their systems, but this is coming.
Moving forward, Nieges said there are some applications she will incorporate to help manage such things as lead generation and scheduling.
"We see the future as being driven by the consumer," said Heiner."Showrooms will be designed and built with the client's needs as the primary driver
in every decision. The 'showroom of the future' will be innovative, interactive
and highly customer centered." n
