Before we know it, KBIS 2017 will be here, so we wanted to take a look back at last year's show
and ask the KBB Editorial Advisory Board what they enjoyed most about their KBIS 2016 experience.

I really enjoyed participating on the KBB panel - 'Trials

Their Biggest Kitchen & Bath Challenges.' I learned a lot,
met some stellar people and enjoyed sharing with my peers.

& Bath Challenges' and would
like to see more educational stuff like this. Whether I'm
involved or not, I felt that those in attendance benefited
from the discussion. The flow was what I feel kept the
attendees' attention.

The highlight for me was the
amount of color I saw. In cabinetry, tile, appliances, countertops and my favorite...grout colors! Wild paint finishes
on cabinetry and my favorite...mid-century modern
pink La Cornue range! Fabulous!
I always enjoy the vendors' cocktail parties - not
just for the food and the wine (however, that is a great
draw) but for the great networking. I meet some of the
most interesting professionals. So wonderful to meet
my LinkedIn connections!

KBIS 2016 was fabulous -
there were many fantastic finds!
There was great energy on the
floor, and people are excited
again to design and build. One can feel that we are
back in full swing!
One of my absolute favorites was the Cosentino booth.
With the new introduction of Dekton ultra-compact surfaces, they rocked my world with the new Trillium finish,
as well as their new high-gloss finishes that have a mirror
quality. I have been specifying their products throughout
all my current designs.
Walker Zanger wowed me with its textured tile selection like the Kaza. The Viking black carbon fiber range
on display was to die for! This would go very well with
the Poggenpohl P'7350 Design by studio F.A. Porsche.

I attended a Voices from
the Industry program by Scott
Kohler about using technology
for project management. I really loved the program and have implemented quite a
few of the things I learned.
I always love meeting representatives from the manufacturers I specify and seeing the new introductions. I
find the social value of the show, networking and trading ideas with like-minded professionals from around
the country to be very stimulating. I also love to see new
vendors and source new things for projects.
My favorite booth was the Virginia Tech Bathroom
of the Future. The technology was about living in place,
energy efficiency and building efficiency - along with a
great aesthetic that made the booth a stand out.

My favorite part about KBIS
was seeing the advancement of
technology in the industry -
Kohler's aromatherapy and
steam; MasterBrand's cabinetry has outlets and plugins
on everything; the clothes-steaming appliances.
The number of attendees [was impressive] as was
the energy. It has been a long time since KBIS had that
kind of electricity in the atmosphere - you could feel
the optimism.
Product-wise, I'm still obsessed with the new Laura
Kirar freestanding tubs from Kallista - brilliant.
