May/June 2017 s h o w d i r e c t o r ' s THE POWER OF PEER-TO-PEER LEARNING ne of the great character traits of successful professionals in the design space is their ability to adapt and evolve. No two jobs are ever the same. Each project has both challenges and opportunities based on space, budget and the customer's ultimate vision. The success of your design - and that of the job in many cases - hinges on your ability to problem solve. I am of the mindset that this is a skill that is learned and perfected over the course of a career. Clearly you are not designing spaces like you did when you started in the business, and I suspect your approach will continue to evolve over time. No doubt purchasing habits, design trends and technology will push us all to adapt. One of the great opportunities we have with KBB and KBIS is our ability to leverage those platforms to help you refine and hone your skills. What O 08 n o t e better way to learn than through others' experiences? This is why Chelsie Butler and her team have worked incredibly hard for the last several months on this particular issue. For just the second time in our history, KBB will have a guest editor issue. This time it is not just one but two guest editors - Rebecca Reynolds (New Canaan Kitchens) and Lori Gilder (Lori Gilder Interior Makeovers). This issue will have their fingerprints throughout. Much of what you will read is based on their input, perspectives and of course their experiences, including a few lessons learned. I would encourage you to take full advantage of this rich content, as even the most seasoned professional can gain a new perspective from Rebecca and Lori. Please let us know what you think about this and other issues. Our team continues to work hard to provide you with meaningful and actionable content throughout the year. I trust that we are making good on that commitment. You can always connect with me via email, or join the conversation on any of our social channels. And don't forget about visiting KBBonline.com for the latest news and happenings around the industry. Enjoy the issue.
