WHAT'S NEXT

While the bathroom is becoming even more of a
quiet oasis, the kitchen is evolving into the central
hub of the home. This means that bold shades,
both bright and moody, will make their way into
the kitchen and bath for different reasons: peace
in the bathroom and energy and individuality in
the kitchen.
"Our home lives are moving into a more considered and grounded place," said Sue Kim, Valspar color strategist. "We are seeking moments
and colors that are meaningful, deliberate and that
enrich our heart, soul and mind."
Woodman predicts that yellow will be the next
trending color to do this because of the popularity
of gold plumbing fixtures. Various hues of yellow,
from deep mustard to tulip yellow, will also make
a comeback with their energy, sense of hope and
association with nature.
"If you strip the glitz and glimmer away from
gold finishes, you have a rich yellow that is not too
bright but can still add a bit of spark to our neutral
spaces," said Woodman.

