Plumbing Giant Makes Conservation
Promise
MOEN HAS COMMITTED TO SAVE one trillion gallons of water by
2030 with its "Mission Moen" initiative, as well as improve how
people interact with the resource on a daily basis. One of the innovations associated with this initiative is the Nebia by Moen spa
shower, which features a special spray technology that breaks
up water into tiny droplets to create the feeling of more water
and provide full-body coverage. The product uses 45 percent
less water than a standard 2.5 gpm showerhead when only the
rain shower is being used. Another innovation is the U by Moen
Smart Faucet, which allows water to be measured precisely via
voice control. Its newest feature is a "wash hands" voice command that pauses the faucet for 20 seconds during the hand
washing to save on water use. The U by Moen Smart Shower
has the ability to pause the water when it reaches the desired
temperature until the user is ready to enter. The company has
also introduced the Flo by Moen Smart Water Security System,
which protects homeowners against water damage with its
Smart Water Detector and Smart Water Shutoﬀ functions, allowing them to manually or automatically shut oﬀ a leak in the home.

Tile Company's
Environmental
Commitment

CROSSVILLE INC. RECYCLED 7,951,271 pounds of ﬁred porcelain in

2019, bringing its recycling total to almost 134 million pounds since
its 2009 launch of the Tile Take-Back program and then the TOTO
USA recycling collaboration. With Tile Take-Back, the company recycles previously installed tile from its distribution network, as well as
scraps from tile cutting during installation, sizing or sample creation.
With the TOTO partnership, Crossville uses pre-consumer ﬁred porcelain toilets that did not meet quality standards to manufacture new
tile. Also in 2019, the company removed 2,323,046 pounds of ﬁltrate
solids from dirty water and recycled them back into tile production.

program

on the Front Line

YOUR HOME COLLABORATION IS A NEW INITIATIVE for front-line medical

professionals responding to the current global pandemic. The program is
made up of interior designers nationwide to provide free design consultations for these important people, so they have the best possible experience when returning to their homes. The consultations are for one room
with a two-hour minimum and can be done virtually or in person in the
future. Designer Anna Maria Mannarino, past president of the New Jersey
Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, initiated the Your
Home Collaboration after also working with manufacturers and local and
state oﬃcials to provide personal protective equipment to hospitals in the
area. Vendors are also encouraged to donate their products and services.
