The abstract ocean wave forms have been
created of stainless steel and granite by Laguna
Beach artist Larry Gill. Larry said, "I believe art is
a kind of energy. I look for beauty and awe to
empower a piece of artwork." The waves are a
narrative of the ocean, "what is going on right
behind them," Larry said. "It belonged with the
location, not on it, or about it, but with it."

Helma explained, "The title and inspiration for this piece came from the
desire to bring joy, perhaps a smile, a moment of abandonment to the lighter
side of life. It is a contribution to an ever happier life in Laguna."

A legend is associated with this
piece that says, "Triton rode this
shell to the surface of the ocean
to enchant the sea nymph. Her
love inspired Triton to make the
Nautilus the most beautiful shell
in the ocean; ever since the
Nautilus has been honored as
the pearly ocean chauffeur.
