"Watch Your Toes"

Temporary Sculpture Exhibition Program

This temporary installation was made
in collaboration with Marion Meyer
Contemporary Art. The artist's engaging
gravity defying sculptures draw in the
viewer like an unfolding drama, challenging
ideas of a pliable universe suspended
from the laws of nature. The steel sculpture will be on exhibit through June 2013.

Louis Longi pays homage
to the city's long history
and commitment to the
arts, both through public
art and the annual art festivals. Three hollow figures support the seat, giving
the bench its name. The installation also gives visitors a respite at one of the
most panoramic views in town.

Public Art

Ruth Peabody was born in Illinois in 1898
and attended the Art Institute of Chicago
prior to moving to Laguna Beach in 1924
with her mother Eleanor Colburn. Ruth first
worked on creating fountain sculptures,
such as this one, before turning to painting. This installation is the oldest public art
sculpture in the City's collection.
