"Rock Pile Carve"

Artist Designed Bench

This accomplished Los Angeles artist created this site specific piece referencing
his own experiences of surfing at Rockpile, a group of rocks located south of
the installation. Created of concrete and stainless steel, the sculpture lends itself
to not only "checking out the surf," but also to enjoy views of Catalina Island.

had a varied and substantial
career, balancing the roles of
sculptor, industrial designer,
potter and teacher. His innovations revolutionized ceramic
sculpture by expanding the
possibilities of ceramics to
create and fire larger and more
complex sculptures.
