John is a Laguna Beach glassblower who created these
pate de verre public art works inspired by the Arts and
Crafts movement. The lighted urns have bronze eucalyptus trees framing the glass panels. "I wanted to bring
art glass to the public in a way that has not been seen
in 100 years," said John.

Terry Thornsley 2003
"Peacescape"

This ornate bronze landscape sculpture
features an oak tree by Laguna Beach
artist Terry Thornsley, whose studio is
nestled in Laguna Canyon. "Twenty years
of absorbing the beauty of Laguna
Canyon is reflected in this piece. I love
where I live, our hills, canyons, trees,
birds and the sea," Terry said.

Using the lost-wax method to
create these bronze sculptures,
Laguna Beach artist Cheryl
Ekstrom said, "I was inspired
by mythical creatures and by
the philosophy of the Arts and
Crafts Movement that is
echoed in the architecture of
the resort." These mythical
creatures are part sea creatures
and part horse.
