Nestled in the ridges and valleys between
between the Allegheny and Blue Ridge
Mountain ranges of western Virginia, the
Alleghany Highlands of Virginia is quickly
becoming a top destination for tourists
hailing from all across the country. From the
abundance of natural beauty the area offers
during every season, to the rich history and
heritage dating back more than 250 years, the
community has plenty of enjoyable options
for those who wish to go sight-seeing or to
visit the many shops or restaurants that are

available. But for those who have a bit of a
stronger appetite for adventure, or who want
to fully immerse themselves in the incredible
outdoor setting, there are a growing number
of entertaining and exciting recreational
options that allow you to get out and enjoy
the best the area has to offer. From the
Alleghany Highlands Blueway, which features
roughly 40 miles of floatable rivers and two
large lakes, to over 100 miles of trails that
beckon hikers, bikers and equestrians of all
