There are three major hospitals serving a
population of little more than 22,000 people,
a fact that opens up a world of prompt
medical treatment for those in need.
In Hot Springs, Bath Community Hospital
continues a tradition of caring for residents
of the Highlands that stretches back more
than a century. BCH offers emergency,
diagnostic and laboratory services, but the
care doesn't end after your first visit. The
hospital offers a swing bed and rehabilitation
program that provides continual care to
those who are recovering from an injury or
prolonged illness. The community-driven
hospital has also branched out with its
Riverside Clinic in downtown Covington
in order to offer health care across the
Highlands.

In Low Moor, LewisGale Hospital
Alleghany offers state-of-the-art emergency
care with a fully accredited chest pain center.
As part of the prestigious HCA Virginia
Health System, LGH-A regularly earns
national recognition for its excellent surgical
care and diagnostic services. Most recently,
the hospital took home the Healthgrades
Patient Safety Excellence Award, an award
received only after a rigorous review of
inpatient care.
Being an affiliate of the HCA Virginia
Health System means the doctors and staff of
LGH-A work closely with hospitals in nearby
Roanoke, Salem and other regional medical
centers to provide excellent care that reaches
beyond the ability and talents of one single
facility.
