2 ounces Woodford Reserve Bourbon
1 ounce sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Lemon peel
Maraschino cherry
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and
strain into a chilled cocktail glass or coupe glass. Express the oils
from a lemon peel over the top of the drink and garnish with a
maraschino cherry.

1 dash Bittermens Xocalatl mole bitters
Barspoon maraschino liqueur
Orange peel
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and
strain into a cocktail glass or coupe glass. Express the oils of the
orange peel over the top of the drink and drop in the peel for garnish.

The Manhattan has stood the tests of time, changing tastes
as well as trends and fads.

Competitors must create two original recipes: a
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Cocktail and an
"ideal" recipe for a classic Manhattan using
Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select Bourbon.
The criteria for judging the Woodford Reserve
Double Oaked Cocktail are taste and balance; creativity and originality; intelligent use of Woodford
Reserve; presentation and appearance; and creativity, relevance and appeal of recipe name. The
Manhattan recipe is judged on taste and balance;
presentation and appearance; and thoughtful and
intelligent use of ingredients.
"It's essentially the definition of a cocktail-the
Manhattan," says Allison Widdecombe of Denver's
Williams & Graham, the 2017 winner. "I think the
Manhattan is one of the most important cocktails
in our industry's history. It's a great base to learn
and experiment off of."
Her winning Manhattan featured both dry and
