Eat Where the Thru-Hikers Do
THE WEBSITE thetrek.co was conducting, as we went to press, its own version of
March Madness. They seeded 32 restaurants through all 14 Appalachian Trail states,
and in first-round voting by previous thru-hikers, five of the Sweet 16 were Virginia
mountain restaurants.
So plan your next day hike or trail weekend around a lunch stop at one of these, listed
from southernmost headed north:
