For a flavorful but different crust
on your standard apple pie, try this
cheesy variation.

Old Saws

1 ½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar
¼ cup  ice water
Directions
Mix first three ingredients. Cut in
butter and cheddar until mixture
resembles small peas. Sprinkle with
2 TBS ice water and mix with fork,
adding more water a little at a time
until the dough just holds together.
Don't over-mix. Divide into two
halves. Place each half in plastic
wrap and flatten into a disc shape.
Refrigerate an hour, then roll out a
top and bottom crust. Fit bottom
crust into pie pan, fill with favorite
apple pie mixture, add top crust and
bake as pie recipe calls for.
