EXCITED FOR FOREVER

Jessica Borman and Mark Francisey met online in
October 2016, spending the next two weeks texting
and talking for hours each day. They finally met
in person for their first date, an 11-mile hike at
Devil's Marble Yard.
Mark and Jessica had previously discussed
marriage, already knowing they wanted to spend
the rest of their lives together. Because they'd
agreed not to buy a diamond engagement ring,
Mark came home with her wedding band on a
quiet evening at home. He was so excited about
his proposal that he got down on one knee, but
forgot to ask Jessica the question! Instead, he
confessed his love for her and stood up, and Jessica

reminded him of the big question. After saying
yes, they made dinner together and celebrated
their sweet engagement.

FAMILY FIRST

A QUICK ENGAGEMENT

As Jessica and Mark are avid hikers, the venue in

Jessica had one month to plan their intimate
wedding, and amazed herself and family at how
it all seamlessly came together. Sunflowers and
daisies are Jessica's favorite flowers, which added
to their color scheme of sunshine yellow and
navy blue. The couple wrote their own vows for
the ceremony, and included 1 Corinthians 13 for
each other. They also included their three children,
Abigail, Aubrey and Hunter.
"Hunter, my son, walked me down the stairs

the mountains overlooking the New River made for
the perfect setting. Because it was the weekend of
Hurricane Florence, everyone waited with baited
breath to see if the rain would hold off. Luckily it
did, and the clouds made the pictures perfect.
With eight people at the wedding, Jessica's priority
was having their family together for the special day.
"That's all we had wanted, just two families becoming
one," she says. "After the ceremony, we stood together
and just laughed and hugged. It was so much fun."
