DESSERT WITH A TWIST

FALL MAGIC

Erin Marshall and Zachary Harris have known
each other since middle school, and began dating
during their junior year of high school. As Erin
puts it, "He played basketball and I cheered.
It has been love ever since, a very classic high
school sweetheart story!"
Zachary took Erin to their favorite restaurant,
where she ordered dessert, and wandered off
with his younger brother to see the view. When
she returned to the table at another entrance,
she found everyone expectantly waiting for her,
and a stunning ring with her dessert. Zachary
asked if she would spend the rest of her life
with him, and she quickly said yes.

Erin always wanted to get married in the fall,
knowing they wanted cooler weather along
with beautiful colors. They chose colors of
maroon and navy along with accents of gold and
champagne, for Virginia Tech, her alma mater,
and his career as a Virginia State trooper. Erin
also loves pumpkins, which made the perfect
accompanying decor.

FOREVER FAMILY

Erin and Zachary shared many special moments
with their families. Her father, recently retired
from the fire department, gave her mother a
piece of his shirt to embroider and sew into her
dress as the "something blue." He also gave her

jewelry that once belonged to his mother, which
made it feel as if she was with them for the
special day. Erin also gave out small satchels of
bird seed to honor her maternal grandmother's
memory. Zachary's grandmother also made
their wedding cake!
FEEL THE LOVE

Erin and Zachary were overwhelmed by the
love that day. To them, it was in and around
every element of their perfect day, even while
making decorations two days beforehand after
a hurricane knocked out all the power!
"Everything that happened leading up to and
including the wedding was such a blessing," Erin
says. "I could not have asked for anything more."
