THE SURPRISE OF A LIFETIME

A FIRST LOOK

A SYMBOL OF LOVE

Jamie Ellis and Corey Fidler met thanks to the
Bumble dating app. For his proposal, Corey
first went to her parents for their blessing.
After talking with them, Corey came up with
a date and flew Jamie's twin brother into
town, as well as invited her closest family and
friends to a dinner at The Hotel Roanoke &
Conference Center.
Jamie had been told they were going out
for a business dinner with Corey's associates.
Imagine her shock when she saw all her favorite
people in one room, waiting to surprise her!
Corey, of course, had the best surprise of all,
proposing to his future wife with all their loved
ones present.

Jamie says having her stepdaughter, Mary
Ellis, take part in their wedding was one of
her favorite parts of the day. The time created
special memories neither of them will ever
forget, and was the perfect way to bring their
new family together.
Jamie and Corey wrote letters to each
other before the wedding, reading them to
each other before the ceremony. This First
Look created one of their favorite moments
together, and calmed the butterflies either of
them had before standing in front of everyone
they knew. Jamie loved the special moment
because it was the one part of the day that was
just the two of them.

Jamie credits her flowers, live band, food and
bourbon bar as highlights of the day, as guests
were able to relax and enjoy the little details.
Something truly special occurred following
their ceremony : a dragonfly swarm! What
seemed like thousands of dragonflies had
landed at Sundara, and the newlyweds realized
how momentous this was when attendees sent
texts explaining that dragonflies are good luck,
and are seen in many cultures as a symbol of
change and transformation.
"This was the one unscripted moment of
the day which took it above and beyond, and
gave us all goosebumps!" Jamie says.
