CHAMPAGNE CELEBRATION

Julianne Rainone and Andrew Jacob met in
2015 after she moved to the Roanoke area,
instantly becoming friends before falling in love.
Just after their three year anniversary,
Julianne came home from work to see Andrew
all dressed up. Andrew asked her if she could
"grab the orange bottle in the fridge," which
turned out to be champagne. As she turned
to ask him what the occasion was, she found
him on one knee, asking to spend the rest of
their lives together.

to celebrate with them, several of whom had
never before been to Virginia!
The couple wanted every detail of their day
to be intentional and creative. As a graphic
designer, Julianne planned everything in the
same way she plans any creative project...by the
details! She did much of the work herself, from
the invitations, vow books and itinerary banner,
to the welcome sign, table numbers and escort
cards. She also made custom hairpins for her
bridesmaids and hand-dyed the table runners.

Andrew and Julianne were most excited about
the many people who made it to their wedding

Instead of favors, the newlyweds designed a
"Giving Tree" and chose four nonprofits special

to them, and guests chose where to give their
donation. It also doubled as their guestbook,
as guests could write a note on their token
before choosing. Julianne and her father built
the "You've Got Mail" seating chart, an ode to
the couple's love of snail mail.
Julianne's mother made their cake (a family
tradition), while several other desserts, as well as
their Southern and Italian dinner, were made by
family friends. The oyster bar was also a big hit
with guests and the groom! The many personal
touches made their day incredibly unique, with
every detail a callback to the couple.
"The wedding was a labor of love, literally,"
Julianne says, adding, "and I'd do it again every
year if I could!"
