APPLE OF MY EYE

Alexandra Peterson first met Stephen Fort at a
mutual friend's apartment. While they did not
become friends instantaneously, their effort to
become friends first played a key role as they
slowly fell in love with each other.
Stephen knew Alexandra did not want a
public proposal, choosing to take her to Carter
Mountain Orchard in Charlottesville for early
morning apple-picking. Alexandra was digging
through the tree in search of the perfect apple,
and turned around to find Stephen on one knee.
A DAY FOR FAMILY

Alexandra and Stephen wanted a very simple
but elegant wedding - nothing over the top,

but "rich with small details." They wanted
their day to feel more like a family affair in a
beautiful old home, and luckily, their venue
provided that feeling.
"My favorite part of the wedding was finally
seeing everything come together before the
guests arrived," Alexandra says. "We had worked
for so long on all of the little details; it was a
great feeling seeing how the staff at Plantation
made all of our ideas a reality!"
KEEPING WARM TOGETHER

Greenery was added almost everywhere possible,
including the panels surrounding the outdoor
patio. Her bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade
of green, paired with plaid wraps to keep warm.

Alexandra and Stephen had custom activity
books made for their younger guests, complete
with crayons for coloring. They also chose a
unique guest book in the form of a watercolor
map for everyone to sign. This way, they can
use it in their home forever to always remind
them of the wonderful day.
Because they wanted an outdoor ceremony
and dance party in November, the couple
prepared for cold weather, with a cute coffee
bar for guests during the reception, along with a
tasty chocolate cookie. Alexandra and Stephen
ordered navy blankets for guests to snuggle up
in during and after the ceremony, placing them
on every seat. Extra blankets were donated
to Turning Point, a local shelter in Roanoke.
