A LIFETIME OF LOVE
Desiree Lawhorn and Joshua Floyd have known
each other for nearly their entire lives, attending
Sunday school together at the same church, as
well as high school. They have been best friends
for almost the entirety!
Desiree was visiting the Hotel Roanoke &
Conference Center when Joshua showed up to
surprise her. He put the cherry on top when he
asked her to marry him!

chose greenery for their ceremony platform
decorations.
Their ceremony decor also showcased a
backdrop of a book with their names on it - a
true fairytale story! In a unique twist, rather than
children as flower girls, Desiree chose two young
women in their twenties to wear glitzy champane
dresses; from their baskets with ribbons, they
threw out daisy flowers just before she walked
down the aisle, as "Daisy" is Desiree's nickname.
FLOWERS FOR DAISY
Desiree chose emerald green for her color palette,
incorporating velvet into the textures. Her
bridesmaids wore velvet emerald dresses and

A LITTLE HELP FROM FAMILY
Desiree's father wrote a special song for his
daughter and new son-in-law, which was incredibly
special to the couple. The bride also incorporated
her family into the ceremony, having all 11 of
her nieces and nephews walk behind her down
the aisle. Two boys held her veil as she walked
towards Joshua.
Stunning flower bouquets decorated the
tables and reception space, while rhinestones
made everything shine, from the cake to plates
and more. To round out the perfect fairytale
wedding day, the newlyweds had a grand finale
exit with a horse-drawn carriage!
"I feel like my whole wedding day was a dream
come true," Desiree says. "It's hard to pick just
one favorite memory because literally everything
turned out perfect!"
