What makes a community? In 2020, the answer was tested at Bridgewater Retirement
Community, as it was in all senior communities.
Fortunately, BRC was well positioned to carry on
with top-notch support of residents in all dimensions
of wellness, even during the pandemic, thanks to
its philosophy of putting residents first, its spirit of
community, and a long track record of careful planning.
Nimble leadership, innovative ideas, and an abundance
of other advantages allowed Bridgewater's residents to
stay connected, thrive, and grow during a trying year.

SURROUNDED BY STUNNING VISTAS

The first thing people notice when they visit are
the rolling mountains and awe-inspiring sunrises.
Residents appreciate BRC's gracious landscaping and
regularly take advantage of the level walking paths
and the sheltered Oasis Pavilion-even more so now
it's safest to visit with friends and neighbors outdoors.
There is a college literally next door, a library across
the street, and numerous parks right in the Town of
Bridgewater. Opportunities abound!

FREEDOM OF CHOICE AND PERSONAL
TOUCHES

BRC's beautifully renovated and expanded community
center offers delicious options in two dining venues-
one restaurant-style and the other more casual, plus
a fitness center, styling salon, pharmacy, gift shop,
library, and bank. New residents can truly make
their BRC home their own, whether in a residential
neighborhood or apartment, by selecting paint,
flooring, and sometimes even new fixtures and
kitchen cabinets at no additional cost.

SECURITY IN COMMUNITY

BRC is a nonprofit Life Plan Community. The Life Plan
model allows residents to move through the lifestyle
continuum as their needs change-from independent
living to assisted living, memory support or awardwinning nursing support. Because of generous
financial support through the BRC Foundation,
residents have the security of knowing that BRC will
always be their home.

COMMUNITY IS HOW WE THRIVE

When Bridgewater Retirement Community opened
in 1965, its mission was to provide compassionate,
expert support to older adults. Since then, it has been
at the forefront of innovation, setting the standard in
serving older Americans. BRC tracked the pandemic
from its early days and implemented effective
prevention measures before they were required, likely
saving health and lives. At the same time, it expanded
services to help residents stay safe and connected.
At the time of publication, BRC residents have
experienced zero serious illnesses or deaths due to
COVID-19.
BRC has always taken the "Community" in its name
seriously. Whether it's engaging activities or excellent
dining, every detail contributes to that sense. This
year, everyone at BRC, from the leadership to the
team to the residents, showed how that sense of
community helps them thrive and grow.
