THE AERIAL TRIBUTE On Thursday, June 6, exactly 75 years after Operation Overlord changed the course of World War II and history as a whole, the skies over Bedford will be filled with the drama and thunder of aircraft from those days, as well as modern U.S. Air Force aircraft. Fighters, bombers and troop carriers will roar above those attending the commemoration event. The historic aerial tribute will likely be the last of its kind and scale to be viewed by the men and women who were part of Operation Overlord. The tribute is being headed by USAF Brigadier General (Ret) Dave Young, who not only has flown 30 different aircraft, but also served as founding dean of the Liberty University School of Aeronautics. 75TH ANNIVERSARY 13
