Live music is abundant at Smith Mountain Lake with a number of local restaurants hosting regular entertainment in season. In the
spring, the region also hosts its own vocal contest - SML Idol - and Lyrics on the Lake, a fundraiser that that brings in up-and-coming
songwriters from around Virginia, as well as Nashville. See Dining & Entertainment on page 68 for more music around the lake.
