Infiniti A/C Compressor Noise
wners of 20092012 Infiniti FX50 vehicles may complain of a whine, hum or low-pitched noise while the A/C is operating when the vehicle is stopped or driving at 10-30 mph. This condition may be caused by a leaking A/C system or may require the replacement of the flexible high-pressure hose. The first task is to check the system for any leaks. Refer to the service information for checking the correct level of refrigerant (550g). If you find a leak, correct the problem and recharge to the specified level, then check to see if the noise problem has been corrected. If no leaks are found, temporarily remove the high-pressure flexible hose bracket (shown in the diagram) and check to see if the noise, which may be caused by the bracket constricting the hose, abates. If the noise still exists, replacement of the flexible high-pressure hose maybe required.
