In as little as 24 months, students can earn
a two-year associate's degree in Automotive
Technology or the equivalent. Mopar CAP LOCAL graduates are qualified to handle a variety
of customer-pay and warranty work for FCA
US dealerships.
The 50 training sites enrolled so far by
Mopar CAP LOCAL are elated to be part of the
burgeoning network.

In addition to the Mopar CAP and Mopar
CAP LOCAL technician training programs,
FCA US has a variety of programs in play to attract, train and retain service technicians, as well
as other dealership employees. For example, in
conjunction with Strayer University, FCA US
launched its Degrees@Work program in 2015
that enables a dealership service technician (or
any other dealership employee) and their immediate family members to earn a no-expense

college degree while employed by participating
dealerships.
FCA US also has introduced a technicianexemption policy that allows technicians to
work one level above their certification if the
individual is in training for the next certification
level; launched its Mopar Top Tech program to
recognize its top-performing, elite technicians
at FCA US dealerships, and partnered with
Snap-On Inc. to equip students in training with
the necessary tools of the trade at a significant
discount.

Northwood University schedules
Heavy Duty Leadership conference
The 6th annual Heavy Duty Leadership
conference will be held July 9-14 on Northwood University's campus near Saginaw, MI.
This program is 100% focused on the commercial truck aftermarket and was created for early
to mid-career HD professionals in any market
segment.
Heavy Duty Leadership is a cornerstone in
the industry's efforts to foster the development
of a new generation of visionary executives
who will help drive the heavy-duty aftermarket
to new levels. The conference is an intense and
intellectually challenging one-week residential
executive development program designed for
early to mid-career, management-track heavyduty professionals in all market segments.
The program is led by top heavy-duty industry leaders who collaborate with faculty
from Northwood University's DeVos Graduate School of Management and the University
of the Aftermarket. This unique partnership allows for a mix of the practical and theoretical,
appropriate for all levels of the heavy-duty aftermarket.
The Heavy Duty Leadership experience
features a blend of industry research and market
analysis, discussion and debate of new challenges and competitive strategies. It also includes
individual skills training in team management,
leadership roles, strategic thinking and planning,
insight into supply-chain solutions and industry
