components used to make field repairs and add-on systems
meet the SAE standards presented in this issue of
MACS Service Report. Care must be taken to follow the
instructions of each manufacturer of these components.
It is important that the proper hose, fittings and crimping
tools or hose coupling methods are followed. There is no
guarantee that a hose, hose fitting or crimp method offered
in the industry will produce a product that meet the
SAE standards requirements unless these instructions are
followed. See Figure 12.
I hope this issue of MACS Service Reports has helped
you understand how automotive and mobile air-conditioning
hose and assemblies are certified to meet the requirements
of SAE standards. Hopefully, you now know
what to look for to verify the products you are using meet
the technical requirements established by the standards
of our industry. You then can be confident you will be producing
a high quality product or repair to satisy your customers.
