Refrigerant Contamination On New Cars-Huh?
It wouldn't be astonishing to encounter contaminated R1234yf
on a late-model (after all the refrigerant has been in
use since 2014, is expensive and there's the temptation to
" save money " by charging a system with something other
than R-1234yf. But could it happen on a new car, almost certain
to go back to the dealer for a warranty repair? General
Motors released a bulletin this past summer (Figure 6) raising
the possibility, if a customer brings in a 2020 Chevy Equinox

A/C is slow to cool, takes longer to blow cool air when compared to like vehicle or if
the vehicles refrigerant needs to be evacuated for another repair.
Possible A/C refrigerant contamination.
If you duplicate this condition and the vehicle VIN is included in the above list, recover the refrigerant using the GE-50957 Contaminated Refrigerant Recovery Machine. Remove the compressor solenoid,
the inlet and outlet lines from the compressor and condenser and at the TXV. Take pictures at each of these points and attach them to the case. (Pictures at ALL of these points are required for review.)
