Spring in the Sonoran Desert brings not only snow runoff to our
rivers but also temperatures warm enough to play in it. Paddle
or float down the Gila River east of Safford during the high water
levels of spring, or
wait a bit to try out
the lower, slower
waters of summer.

San Carlos Lake is a
prime fishing spot
for largemouth bass
and flathead catfish, while Patagonia
Lake State Park has
