activities to the Arizona high country.
inches and nearby Williams gets nearly 75
inches. Downhill sports rule at Sunrise Park
Resort, Arizona's largest ski park, offering
65 runs over three mountains. But Arizona
Snowbowl in Flagstaff and Elk Ridge Ski and
Outdoor Recreation Area in Williams also

promise plenty of downhill skiing, snowboarding and other snow-sport fun.
Cross-country ski trails wind through the
Flagstaff Nordic Center and the Mormon
Lake Ski Touring Center, both a short drive
south of Flagstaff. Play among the pines
in the snow recreation areas of the Kaibab
and Apache-Sitgreaves national forests.
Try ice fishing in Pinetop-Lakeside streams
and ponds, or on the lakes and rivers of the
White Mountain Apache tribal lands.
ANCIENT CULTURES
& ANCIENT LANDS
Northern Arizona is dotted with ancient ruins
and covered with territories of eight modernday tribes. It also holds fascinating evidence
of animals and elements that ruled these
lands hundreds, even thousands, of years ago.
