DREW WOOLERY

RAISE A PINT
KC's craft-beer culture is well deserving
of a toast. Boulevard Brewing Co., the
largest specialty brewer in the Midwest,
sets the standard with its huge Tours
& Recreation Center-a beer hall and
Rec Deck with shuffleboard courts,
skyline views and a killer menu of
bites. On a smaller scale, KC boasts a
bustling independent brewery scene
thanks to more than 30 innovative
brewers, including Cinder Block and
Servaes Brewing Co. Those interested
in sampling a little bit of everything
can embark on the KC Tap Tour, which
highlights the best of area breweries with
enough discounts to go around. Get your
three-day or season-long pass at

STRANG HALL

FLAVORFUL FOOD HALLS THE HOLOCAUST
The options are
nearly endless
in Kansas City's
newest crop of
food halls. At
Parlor in the
Crossroads Arts District, diners will find
seven rotating restaurant concepts, ranging from Korean comfort food to burgers
and malts by James Beard Chef Michael
Corvino. Across the state line, the menus at
Strang Hall's six chef kitchens will transport you far from its Downtown Overland
Park locale. Enjoy craft pizzas with seasonally cured meats or sample a fusion of
Laotian/Thai fare. Pack a blanket and
spread out in the roomy backyard area.

REMEMBERED

For the first time, 75 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, a touring exhibition
dedicated to the historical significance of
the concentration camp is being presented
to a U.S. audience. The international
exhibition-Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far
away.-will make its second and final U.S.
stop at Kansas City's Union Station starting
in June. Deemed the most comprehensive
exhibition about Auschwitz ever presented
in North America, the powerful, 20-gallery
experience will feature more than 700 original objects and 400 photographs, many
of which have never before been publicly
displayed. Tickets are now on sale at
unionstation.org.

GAY-FRIENDLY KC
Kansas City's LGBTQ+
community is prouder
than it has ever been.
Gay-owned hangouts
like Bistro 303 (a lively
Westport establishment), Café Trio (a patio-perfect eatery)
and Ragazza (a cozy Italian restaurant
and wine bar) keep guests coming back
for good eats and good times. Then there's
PrideFest, a full weekend of fun featuring
live music and more, making it an uberpopular annual event in KC. It's no wonder
Thrillist named KC as one of the most gayfriendly cities in the country.
