Online Transactions Mass ID Renewal Policies Click here for the Online MA ID Renewal Eligible customers can renew a Mass ID up to one year prior to expiration or up to four years after expiration (similar to a license). Eligible customers will also be able to renew their Mass ID for two consecutive renewal periods. Consumers wishing to renew a Mass ID more than four years after expiration must presenhttps://www.mass.gov/how-to/change-your-address-with-the-rmv the required ID documents and be issued a new Mass ID. These consumers will be considered " first-time " applicants. In addition, consumers that do not have a social security number will need to provide either a verifiable SSN or an updated SSN Denial Letter, no more than 30 days old, issued by the Social Security Administration and proof of an acceptable VISA status. Reminder: Consumers who currently hold a Mass ID card that does not have an expiration date, will be issued a five-year Mass ID expiring on the customer's birthday upon issuance of a duplicate or print.
