Chapter 5. USCIS and CBP Forms Electronic I-94s Customers who apply for a license, permit or ID card, and who have already applied for and been denied a SSN, must present the following documentation: * The SSN Denial Notice * Proof of current visa status * An I-94 Record of Arrival and Departure * A current non-US Passport U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has automated the issuance of the I-94 Record of Arrival and Departure. Most visitors arriving in the United States by air or sea will no longer receive an I-94. Customers who don't receive an I-94 from CBP can download and print an electronic copy of a I-94 from the CBP website (www.cbp.gov/i94). The RMV's policy regarding I-94s is not changing. If a customer is required to present an I-94 to meet the identification requirements, one must still be presented. The only change is that the I-94 may now either be one issued by CBP or one printed electronically from their website by the customer. Who Will Need to Print an Electronic I-94 All visitors entering the United States by sea or air will be given a brochure indicating that they should go to the CBP website and download and print their own electronic I-94. The brochure specifically indicates that the printout of the electronic I-94 is required by motor vehicle agencies. Visitors arriving in the United States by land, and those in certain limited categories including refugees, asylees, and parolees will continue to be issued a paper I-94. 05/13http://www.cbp.gov/i94
