Chapter 6. School Bus Certificates Maintaining Your School Bus Driver Certificate To ensure that your School Bus Driver Certificate remains valid and can be renewed each year, you must pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check, and a driving record check each year. These checks are conducted by RMV and do not require any action on your part. You must also pass a physical exam each year and send the results of this exam to RMV with your renewal application. NOTE: If you are convicted of any drug or alcohol offenses, your School Bus Driver Certificate will be revoked. School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate To obtain or renew a School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate, you must complete an Application for School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate. As an initial applicant, you must have held a School Bus Certificate for a least two (2) years and you must successfully complete the School Bus Instructor's Course. The School Transportation Association of Massachusetts (STAM) provides the School Bus Instructor's course. 9/18http://www.schoolbus.org/
