Expert Panel
Dr. Donald W. Marion (moderator) has expertise in neurotrauma and neurocritical care, as
well as neurotrauma research. He is a contractor with General Dynamics Information
Technology in support of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center in Silver Spring,
Maryland.

Dr. Jeffrey J. Bazarian is an emergency physician in Rochester, NY and professor at the
University of Rochester. He is very active in TBI research.

Dr. Jessica Gill is acting scientific director of the National Institute of Nursing Research at
the National Institutes of Health and deputy director for the Center for Neuroscience and
Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Geoffrey Manley is professor of neurosurgery and vice chair for research at the
University of California at San Francisco.

Dr. Michael A. McCrea is professor of neurosurgery and director of brain injury research at
the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Ava M. Puccio is assistant professor of neurosurgery and co-director of the Neurotrauma
Clinical Trials Center at the University of Pittsburgh. She has expertise in biomarkers and
performing clinical trials.
