WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN

CES

2016 is already one for the record books! The most space ever. The
most innovative products. More than 500 startups in Eureka Park.
Phenomenal growth in augmented reality, virtual reality, wireless
health, auto tech, robotics, 3D printing, drones, driverless and electric
cars, and biometrics. The Internet of Things is everywhere and Ultra
HD 4K Blu-ray and HDR TVs are new on the scene.

Our goal at the newly
renamed Consumer
Technology Association
(CTA)™ is to ensure
that the possibilities
of the future exist, and
that government and
legacy industries do
not stand in the way
of innovation.

And for the first time ever, we put measures in place to restrict attendance so our guests can
have a great experience. But it's not just about size or records or even growth. It's about the huge
difference innovation will make for mankind. We are at the beginning of a tidal wave of innovation thanks to increasingly ubiquitous broadband and low cost sensors. Entrepreneurs and innovators are combining these technologies and creating new and useful consumer services to make
our lives better. Whether they're found in transportation, education, healthcare, agriculture, safety
or convenience, new services and products will fundamentally change our world. They will solve
problems that have plagued mankind for centuries.
Soon we will be living healthier, safer and richer lives. We will have fewer car accidents. We will
learn from the individual human genome how to cure once deadly diseases. We will know what
works and doesn't in our healthcare. We will live longer and more vigorous lives. We will close the
gap between the rich and the poor. We will create new jobs and eliminate others, including many
that were dangerous. But in any case, today's problems involving disease, education, transportation, food production and healthcare will be tomorrow's history lesson. And that lesson will be
taught using innovation and technology.
Each January you see the future at CES. In Las Vegas, the sun
shines brighter and humanity's problems shrink. It is not the
show itself that solves old problems and creates new opportunities; it is advances in technology and science. It is the innovators and entrepreneurs, the investors and retailers, the media
and businesses the show attracts, who learn, meet, partner and
envision. It is those who take the risks to bring new products and
services to market.
Our recent name change is to represent the diversity of innovation. Our goal at the newly renamed Consumer Technology
Association (CTA)™ is to ensure that the possibilities of the future
exist, and that government and legacy industries do not stand in
the way of innovation. We must make sure they do not take this
moment in history away from the next generation.
This is our legacy to the future. We are just at the beginning of the path. We must go forward
pressing into the unknown, solving big problems and ensuring a better life for future generations.
