How can the CES Asia show help your business?

This is the first time that Huawei has exhibited. Generally speaking, the show is the ideal platform to promote new products, but for Huawei, the meaning and
influence is far beyond that. It gathers all the leading
consumer tech companies on the show floor. And the
key retailers and distributors are here as well. In addition to the exhibition, there is a dynamic conference
program with topics from the connectivity, smart home
and the Internet of Things. We can see many experts
sharing their opinions on the show. So for Huawei and
for me, it is a place to see the latest innovations, product
trends, consumer insight and marketing transformation
in the industry.

How important is design and
style in your products?

Take the smartphone for
example, with the rapid
development of the Internet
and social networks, consumers' requirements for smartphones have been increasingly
diversified. The design of a
smartphone should not be
about taste, but also emotional
elements to gain deep recognition of consumers.
Huawei has created a
global innovation hive with 16
research institutes in China,
Germany, Sweden, Russia and
India. Taking advantage of
various regions, Huawei keeps
providing the most amazing products and services to
consumers.
For design, Huawei has
established its user interface
design center in San Francisco, a design center in Paris
as well as a design center in

London to keep abreast of
global fashion trends. There
is also the Moscow algorithm
center, Japan communications
R&D, India software center
and Europe 5G center and
many other centers across the
globe. These establishment
academies show Huawei's
commitment to provide consumers the combination
of technology and fashion.
Can you talk about some of
your partnerships?

As a company inspired by
innovation hives and crowd
wisdom, we even brought
this collective idea to our
external partners. By integrating future technology trends
and our partners' advanced
technology, our final goal is to
provide the latest devices and
perfect product experience to
global consumers.
That is why we collaborate
closely with a wide range of
partners, such us Google and
Microsoft for OS, ARM for
chipsets, Harman Kardon for
sound systems and Swarovski
for design.

a Renaissance in digital imaging. Leica, with more than 100
years of heritage in photographic excellence, is creating
new synergies by partnering
with Huawei, a custodian of
the rich culture of the East.
We always want a win-win
collaboration. Huawei's brand
and technology capabilities are
strengthened by the partnership with Leica. By working
with Huawei, Leica is able
to bring its imaging excellence and quality to a broader
audience.
Huawei was recently ranked
as the 13th most innovative
global company by Fast Company. What makes Huawei so
innovative?

It's the third time that Huawei
has been listed as one of the top
50 Most Innovative Companies
by Fast Company. Huawei's
leading position in the international market is a result of
our focus on product quality
and long-term commitment
to R&D. Each year, Huawei
spends at least 10 percent of our
sales revenue on R&D. We have
invested more than $37 billion
in R&D in the last decade,
which is something that many
enterprises cannot match.
We have 16 R&D centers
scattered across the globe, and
28 joint innovation centers as
well. So this is a hive composed of 170,000 employees
among which 40,000 are foreigners. Among our employees, 45 percent are engaged in
R&D. Huawei's core competencies lie in its long-term
experience in the telecommunication field, its strong
R&D capacity and continuous
investment in R&D, and we
do it on a global scale.
