FOCUS ON PHILANTHROPY
MAKING A
DIFFERENCE
On Wednesday, May 18, the Cancer Institute at UM
St. Joseph Medical Center hosted "Making A Difference," an
evening reception to honor friends of the Cancer Institute
for their generous support. Recent initiatives, funded solely
through philanthropy, have included the Geraldine G. Schultz
Endowment to support breast cancer patients, an expansion
to the Serpick Infusion Center, new infusion chairs and the
opening of the Caring Touch Boutique.
In his heartfelt remarks, Nader Hanna, MD, medical director
of the Cancer Institute and professor of surgery at the
UM School of Medicine, thanked the many guests present
and shared his impressions on why he believes cancer
care at UM St. Joseph Medical Center is so lovingly unique.
