The U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) approved
Apligraf to heal both diabetic foot
ulcers and venous leg ulcers more
than 20 years ago. This approval
was based on a study that found
the tissue healed wounds 46 percent faster than the standard of
care, according to graft manufacturer Apligraf.
