Here to Care
for You
As the seasons change, there is one constant. We are dedicated to
improving and sustaining the health and well-being of Lee County
and the surrounding area. We are here to care for you, and this
includes the very youngest in our community.
Pediatricians provide care for our children, but for many years,
kids who needed a higher level of inpatient care were not always able
to stay at CCH. This was inconvenient for patients and families. For
most now, this is no longer the case. Thanks to our collaboration
with WakeMed, we can provide inpatient pediatric care 24 hours
a day, seven days a week. In our cover story, you'll learn about
Emily Patterson, a 14-year-old who lives with a rare illness. Now,
pediatricians who specialize in caring for hospitalized children are
available whenever Emily needs them.
Next, we spotlight our collaboration with WakeMed and
introduce four pediatric hospitalists who are making a difference
in our community. Read about the kinds of care and services they are able to offer patients from
infants to teenagers. We hope this brings peace of mind to our families with children.
Last, we feature a high-risk pregnancy with a happy ending: the birth of Dalanie Zabel. Tiffany
Zabel decided to have a cesarean at CCH when she and her husband, Curt, learned that a pediatric
hospitalist would be standing by during delivery. Knowing their baby could be monitored before and
after delivery gave them the assurance they needed.
We invite you to call or visit Central Carolina Hospital to learn about a broad range of services
designed for your health and wellness needs. We are committed to serving our friends and neighbors
with the highest quality of healthcare for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Doug Doris, CEO
Central Carolina Hospital
