PHOTO BY MOODBOARD What's New CCH Offers Workplace Wellness Programs Achieving wellness means being in good physical and mental health, and it's closely associated with lifestyle. Nutrition, weight control, exercise and control of risk factors all play roles. People who manage their lifestyles tend to be healthier and more productive, with fewer work absences and medical needs. Central Carolina Hospital is committed to improving the health of the community and designs workplace wellness programs that local businesses can offer employees. "Corporate wellness programs have been proven to help employees live healthier and lead more productive lives," said Wendy O'Quinn, CCH's wellness manager. "CCH has always offered wellness programs for patients and the community, but now it designs programs that help businesses empower employees to take the necessary steps toward good health and wellness." CCH's wellness program starts with a baseline health assessment to identify risk factors. The goal is help people change unhealthy behaviors, such as being inactive or overweight, smoking and eating poorly, by coordinating services and activities that offer guidance and education. To learn how to start a wellness program at your business, contact Wendy O'Quinn at 919-708-4695. Be Social ...
