OUR EXPERTS Jon Priest ETUDE In spring 2005, Jon Priest moved north to the Napa Valley to work alongside Tony Soter, Etude Founder and Winegrower, to continue the tradition of crafting world-class Etude wines. A California native, he honed his winemaking skills by staying true to his roots. Jon was hired as Winemaker for TAZ Vineyards in 2003, sourcing grapes from the best Central Coast vineyards and crafting beautiful Pinot Noirs, Syrahs, Chardonnays and Pinot Gris that have earned critical acclaim and numerous awards. Earlier, for more than a dozen years at Wild Horse Winery, he established a reputation as an innovator, overseeing the crafting of more than 30 varietals, with a special fondness for Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir still remains his passion, thus making Etude a perfect home.
