AN ILLUSTRATOR working out
of his home studio in Cambridge,
Ontario, Dan Page (“Rethinking the
Bored Room,” page 76) is married
with three daughters, who steal his
pencils on a regular basis—driving
him mad! Luckily, they are also budding artists and those “wandering”
pencils have created some fabulous
work. Dan will be in Taschen’s 100
Illustrators, featuring the best 100
illustrators from around the world,
coming out in summer 2013. His clients include Time, Newsweek, Harvard
Magazine, The New York Times and
O Magazine, to name a few.
BORN IN WASHINGTON D.C.,
Lee Hoagland (“Downtown
Dreaming,” page 54) approaches
photography in a nuanced, narrative-focused way. He moved to
Paris in 2008 to focus on identity
and integration issues facing the
immigrant population. Currently
based in Dubai, Hoagland is
pursuing several projects in the
region. His clients include The New
York Times, The Financial Times
Magazine, The International Herald
Tribune, The Times of London and The
National, among others.
WRITER LISA ROSEN (“Powering
Down,” page 44) lives in Los
Angeles and has been writing about
film, television, books, art, travel
and design for the Los Angeles Times
since the turn of the century. Her
work has also appeared in Written
By, Moving Pictures, Emmy and LA
Architect, among other publications. When not thus engaged with
popular culture, she is also a columnist for the environmental website
Ecology.com.
