MARYLAND’S HEALTH MATTERS
Ah, spring. A very exciting season—a time of
birth and rebirth. It is Mother Nature’s way of
granting us new beginnings and more sunlight as
the days lengthen. At Maryland General Hospital, we, too, are embarking on a new day.
Over the course of the last several months,
we have grown to offer services that allow us to
better serve our community. We now offer postacute specialty services for the chronically ill,
pediatric services for children up to age 21, a sleep disorders center
and a clinic for those living with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
But the most exciting change by far is that we are changing our
name and expanding the breadth of services we offer. Although
you will have to wait until early summer to see what our new name
will be, I can tell you that this rebranding effort will further leverage Maryland General Hospital’s relationship with the University of
Maryland Medical Center and the University of Maryland School of
Medicine. Currently, we receive great benefit to being aligned with the
University of Maryland Medical Center and having access to academic
medical center clinical expertise when managing complex patient
cases, and it is our goal to maximize those benefits to provide even
higher quality care and clinical programs than we do now. Stay tuned!
