WHOLE HEALTH: HEALING
THE MIND AND BODY
Mohammad Oreizi-Esfahani, MD, an internist and rheumatologist at
University of Maryland Primary Care at Armory Place, believes that
patients must educate themselves on their condition so they can
be actively involved in their care plan.
"My best health tip for patients is to read and be informed about
their illness. Also, in addition to healing the body, it's important that

the mind is right, which can be achieved by living with hope and
always thinking positively," says Dr. Oreizi-Esfahani.
A good patient-physician relationship should be open and honest, and patients should feel comfortable discussing their concerns
and health goals, particularly with their primary care provider. "My
patient care philosophy is to consider them my close family members, and to treat them as such," Dr. Oreizi-Esfahani says.
