Abdominal aortic aneurysms often have no symptoms until rupture, which can be fatal. A painless ultrasound can be used to detect both of these conditions with a combined screening for anyone 65 years and older with at least one of the following: high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, tobacco use, or a personal or family history of stroke, aneurysm, or heart disease.
