COVER LINKS FEATURED Blue, Gold and Green Throughout the years, we've shared many sustainability initiatives happening at NAU. And we're excited to share one more: Green NAU. This platform is responsible for raising awareness and education of the numerous projects and programs underway. It combines campuswide initiatives and the efforts of organizations such as Green Jacks (the NAU Student Environmental Caucus) and NAU Green Fund to create a onestop shop of information for everything "green" on campus. The goal is to create a culture of sustainability across all areas of the university. With opportunities like academic programs, student groups, community programs and initiatives, and institutional research, there is something for everyone. Learn more online, or visit the group's Facebook page. Have a program or project suggestion for Green NAU? Send the group an email. SPOTLIGHT CONNECTIONS Q&A GREEN IS GOOD A NEW LOOK FOR LOUIE Look out, world! There's a new Lumberjack in town. In April, NAU Athletics unveiled the new look for Louie the Lumberjack and the iconic NAU axe logo, as well as a new website. Input from student-athletes, alumni and the NAU community was incorporated into the design process. Traditions such as strength, pride, heroism and determination were recognized as being key values of the Lumberjack Athletics experience and helped to craft this new mark. "We are proud to unveil the complete new identity of NAU Athletics as it is part of the transformation taking place on campus and in the community," says Lisa Campos, vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics. "Our goal was to unite all stakeholders behind a single vision for the NAU Lumberjacks that elevates the athletics program, embodies the spirit of the region and inspires northern Arizona, and I believe that we accomplished the goal." Campos isn't the only one who's thrilled with the new look. "I can't wait for our team to show off the new uniforms when we hit the court this fall," says Jack Murphy, men's basketball head coach. "The mountain within the logo signifies strength, and that's what we see in our student-athletes, whether it is in the classroom or in sports. They are dedicated and committed." All 15 intercollegiate teams will don the new uniforms this fall.
