HOMECOMING PARADE RETURNS TO CAMPUS Thanks to support from alumni, students, parents, staff, faculty and friends, the Lights for Yellow Bikes campaign successfully met its fundraising goal. The original target of $5,850 was exceeded by $854 for a total of $6,704 raised 15 days ahead of the project funding deadline. Nearly 150 people helped support the campaign, which will supply 150 yellow bikes with both front and rear LED lights. Lights for Yellow Bikes was launched on March 9 and concluded with the celebration of Earth Day on April 22. The project was initiated to improve the campus fleet and make bikes more accessible for participants, especially for nighttime and off-campus trips. With an average of 300 to 400 users annually, the lights will allow riders to safely share the road with drivers. The Yellow Bike Program on the Flagstaff campus lends bikes, along with a lock and helmet, to students, faculty and staff at no cost. Yellow Bikes can be checked out at the du Bois Center, University Union or Health and Learning Center with a student ID, for up to a week at a time. For the first time in many years, the annual homecoming parade will be held on NAU's campus Saturday, Oct. 24.
