In a truly exciting development for conferences and events, The Ritz-Carlton is piloting a new application that allows meeting planners to make requests in real time on any web-enabled device, receive instant feedback and monitor the status of requests. Users will be able to select their room and choose from categories such as culinary and audiovisual. They can then enter a request - to adjust the room temperature or order more coffee, for example - which is immediately communicated to an event concierge. The application is being tested at two international locations (Cancun and Dove Mountain) before being rolled out to Ritz-Carlton properties worldwide. w w w. R I t z c a R l t o N . c o m Other technology developments include updates to the Ritz-Carlton app and website scheduled for later this year. The app, which delivers hotel-specific information through GPS functionality as well as QR codes, will continuously be built out to enhance the mobile experience at hotels and resorts around the globe. "We also recently updated the section for Ritz-Carlton Rewards members, which makes it easier for them to access and manage their upcoming reservations," says Christoph Heyn, senior manager, global ecommerce and mobile strategy. The Ritz-Carlton website showcases dramatically enhanced images of guest rooms, facilities and event spaces.
